Budget Beauty Worth Trying

For a period of time, I thought in order to get skincare that really works, you had to spend a chunk of money. However, over the past 6 months, I’ve been using a handful of products that are purse friendly and still pack a punch. I’m not saying that I’ve ditched my higher- end products completely, but these brands have impressed me a lot, so wanted to share some of my favourites.

The Ordinary

I know there has been a lot of hype around The Ordinary, but it’s for good reason. I usually buy them from Cult Beauty as I find they usually keep a pretty good stock of products. Most of the things I’ve tried from them are around £5 and there are a few things that have really impressed me. First up is my firm favourite, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. A real stand out product that has had a huge impact on my skin. I used to suffer from regular breakouts, especially around my chin and this has helped massively. Other products that have also impressed me are the AHA 30% Peeling Solution – a really good face mask that leaves your skin feeling so smooth. The Glycolic Acid, as it works a treat and is so affordable especially for the amount you get.

Beauty Pie

I’m including this under the budget skincare brands as the membership price you pay (after you sign up) is so affordable. Like crazy affordable. Although you pay a monthly membership fee (I pay £10 a month) you get access to some great products at really affordable prices! Beauty Pie is known for having some great products, I know their Japanfusion collection is popular and something I’m still yet to try! I have tried some of the eyeshadow cream sticks and their day moisturiser. Everything I’ve tried so far I’ve liked, and for the price you pay you really do get a great deal! Caroline Hirons has done a great video talking through a lot of the products, so worth a watch if you want to find out more. (It’s actually what persuaded me to try them out). I’m also about to put in my next order actually, so will let you know my thoughts once I’ve given more products a go!

Primark Beauty – Alex Steinherr

Primark isn’t somewhere I’d usually head to for beauty finds. Other than flannels (they do some great face cloths people). However after seeing the much hyped collaboration between Alex Steinherr, a well known beauty editor. I was intrigued and wanted to get my hands on some bits. I tried a few products, and a couple of bits impressed me. The sleep spa eye cream is something that I really loved using and as someone who has sensitive under eyes I usually have to be careful. I also like the clay mask, as it’s not as drying as some I’ve tried and I can see a difference after using it. For the price point of these products, I’m impressed on what there is on offer and I’m keen to try more.

Neutrogena – Hydro Boost

The Hydro Boost range from Neutrogena has impressed me so much. I always pick these bits up when they’re on offer in boots so they end up being really affordable. My favourites from the range include the recovery mask, which is so nice! I can see a difference in my skin and it packs a punch for the price. I also like that it’s not a typical paper sheet mask, but more of a gel one. I have seen they’ve extending the range to include some other masks so can’t wait to try those out too. I also like the moisturiser, however after trying both the gel cream and the water gel, I much prefer the gel cream. It sinks in nicer and leaves my skin feeling a bit more plump. I have also tried the body gel cream which I love, as it sinks in so well and leaves my skin feeling so good.

So there are some of my favourite skincare bits from affordable beauty brands! Having some great products, like the ones from The Ordinary I don’t think I’ll be over spending on products for a while! If you have any other products you’d recommend then let me know as I’d love to try some new bits!
