London Eats: Mother Mash

The other week a friend decided she’d like to go to Mother Mash for her birthday meal, which I was so happy with. Tucked away in Soho (just off Carnaby street) it’s the perfect place to head to if you’ve got a craving for some proper home comfort food, which for me, is bangers & mash.

For me, it’s always classic sausages, with cheesy mash and onion gravy. Usually with a side of vegetables and this time we also ordered a side of cauliflower cheese. They have so many options when it comes to mash, sausages and gravy. You’re able to customise your meal to your favourite combination which I really like as you can switch it up if you’d like. (I always stick with the classic choice but if you’re feeling fancy there’s plenty on offer).

After eating a generous portion of bangers & mash, you’d think we’d be too full, however when it comes to something sweet, there’s always room for more… The desserts were a 10/10 so I’m glad we tried them out this time. Rachel and myself went for the apple and blackberry crumble with custard (SO good and a firm favourite) and our friend Becs opted for a sticky toffee pudding, which she also said was delicious.

If you’re in the area, then I’d recommend popping in! We never book, just walk up and wait for a table (we’ve never had to wait too long). The staff are always really friendly and the location is so easy to get to. Prices are also really reasonable, it’s around £10 for your meal and then there’s the option to add some sides too.

Definitely one to add to the list if you’re a lover of comfort food, incredible mash potato or just fancy trying somewhere new! I don’t think it will be too long before we’re back….
