Snapshots from a weekend in Seville.

In Early Jan, my friend Maz and I escaped the UK to spend the weekend in Seville to celebrate her birthday. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Seville, as I hadn’t heard much about it before. When we booked it, we just knew we wanted to head somewhere sunny, warm and within a couple hours flight time. I’m happy to report back that Seville is beautiful and definitely somewhere worth adding to your travel bucket list.

 The hotel

We stayed at Hotel Fernando III, after finding it on Booking.com. ¬†Thankfully it turned out to be just as nice as it looked online and was so well priced. Luckily our room was ready early so we could check in as soon as we arrived, so we could freshen up before heading out to explore. The room itself was really nice, perfect for two people for a long weekend. The bed was so comfortable, it was almost a struggle to get up in the morning, to be honest! The biggest appeal of the hotel was the rooftop pool and bar. Although we didn’t make use of the pool, we did, however, make full use of the bar and sunset views over the city. Even if you’re just visiting the area you can make use of the rooftop, so it’s worth a visit!¬†

Exploring the city

We did most of our exploring on foot. It’s cheap, easy and one of the nicest ways to explore all of the little side streets. We didn’t set out with any plans, we just knew we wanted to wander around and take it all in – with plenty of food stops along the way. Luckily we were staying really close by to the Cathedral, so walked past this most days. We also made sure to check out the Plaza de Espana which is truly beautiful – and well worth a visit! When it came to finding great places for food, we actually found a street close by to the Cathedral that was lined with amazing places.

If you’re looking for somewhere new to explore without being too packed with tourists then I really recommend Seville! A great place to spend a long weekend and have a break from the super cold weather in the UK.
